I recently received an e-mail from a rider with a full dress motorcycle who was concerned about the 980 pound carrying capacity of the UMTC1 trailer. He asked about the 12 inch wheel and tire upgrade and if it would raise the load rating for the trailer. I forwarded the message to Gary at the factory and here is the answer he sent:
The capacity of the trailer can be increased to 1200 lbs. when you add the 12" tires, you simply need to let us know that is what you want. The trailer has leaf spring suspension [no torsion axles that tend to wear out tires] 1 ton high speed axle with 1" taped roller bearings, 5 hole hubs, 4 ply tires, and the adjustable tongue length aids in both ride and ease in backing up.

Assembly Overview of the Motorcycle Hauler Trailers
These trailers average about 45 minutes to and hour Assembly time for the average buyer. The frame section requires no Assembly because it is welded together and constructed from SQUARE TUBING not "U" Channel material like many other trailer kits on the market. The square tubing frame is much stronger than a frame made from "U" channel material.
Assembly Steps:
- 3 "U" bolts tongue to frame
- 2 bolts coupler to tongue
- 4 bolts springs to axle
- 4 "U" bolts fenders to frame
- 6 bolts motorcycle channel to frame
- Light kit is pre-wired
- Average assembly time 45 minutes to and hour
